Wild Rivers and Chris Blachford Making Music at The Village Tomorrow Night*

I first heard Wild Rivers last month at the Peak to Shore Music Festival, and they are a solid group with beautiful indie/folk/pop songs, complete with male-female harmonies, acoustic guitar, and thoughtful lyrics.  They have some wonderful upbeat fun stuff, and some really soulful, gorgeous songs.  Check out their video for 'Already Gone' below.

Opening act will be Chris Blachford of Toronto-based folk band, The Fox and The Moon.  Blachford is a talented singer/songwriter with a knack for creating intimacy.  He's an experienced musician, having worked with several bands and musicians in the Toronto area.  Below is a taste with The Fox and The Moon's song "Oh, My Love".

Head up to Blue Mountain Village tomorrow around 7pm to hear these really incredible emerging artists for part of the Village's Friday Night Indie Series.

Kobo Town and Thompson Wilson for Friday Night Indie Series!*

Kobo Town is a Toronto based band led by Trinidadian-Canadian singer/songwriter Drew Gonsalves.  Their music blends calypso vibes with hip hop, reggae, zouk, and spoken word.  Within the past few years, they've been longlisted for the Polaris Prize, nominated for JUNO Awards, and have travelled the globe performing their energetic, rhythmic, and poetic music.

Opening for Kobo Town is Thompson Wilson.  Thompson has performed in the area a little bit, and is an awe-inspiring songwriter and musician.  As the son of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings' Tom Wilson, Thompson has the great Canadian songwriting spirit in his blood.  He and his father co-wrote Blackie and the Rodeo Kings' latest single, "Beautiful Scars" which features City and Colour.

This is sure to be a beautiful evening of music.  Check it out at the Blue Mountain Village Coca-Cola Stage (right in the middle of the village) on Friday, August 4th, from 7-10pm.
